Our First Night Out

Friday night we met a group of friends and went out to dinner, it was our first group outing since Logan. We met Eric & Erin with their kids Robert (almost 2) and Bryce (13 weeks), Jeff & Lindsay and Dusty. As we walked into the restaurant with 2 car seats, a toddler and husbands ready to have a good time I started to question what we were doing but it all turned out great! I got a fantastic meal (we went to Basque food - yum) and Logan was a perfect angle sleeping all through dinner. Baby Bryce was not as happy and Erin had to spend most of her time walking with him which made Robert unhappy because his mom was gone! I decided that 2 kids might be too much work for me! AHH! One is hard enough right now. The best part of dinner was that people kept coming up to see the babies and asking if they were twins - oh sure the 18lb Bryce and the 8lb Logan are twins. Jeff had the best comment when people said this - yeah its just like the move twins - Bryce is Arnold and Logan is Danny Divito! So our first night out with a kid was successful!!

I'm going to try this comment part again ... don't know why I had so much trouble last time. Sounds like the 3 of you,(and chill)are doing great! Logan has chubby cheeks now ... I want to hug him ... xoxo to all of you. Laura and Steve

Just wait a month or two. You man re-think the whole eating out part for a while...Logan probably won't always be so easily entertained while you are trying to eat!

Even if it gets hard, keep it up. Don't give in or you will have a toddler that is a pain in the butt and you won't be able to go anywhere. We really like this local mexican restaurant. They play their mexican music louder than any noise my kids can come up with. Also, when Logan gets bigger you can try this... Since kids only take about 2 minutes to eat their food, you bring along a lollipop for them to suck on after they are done. This is good for two reasons: You can use it as a bribe during the meal and it keeps their mouths quiet while you finish your meal. Also, by the time the sugar catches up to them, you are done and have paid your check. :)

We thought we had a busy life with two fulltime jobs, a work in progress house and a very SPECIAL K-9 ... but we're coming to discover that life is going to get CRAZY .... Parenthood here we are...chicka chicka yeeaahh!! are we doing it right???
